Bibi Heal - soprano

Bibi graduated from the University of East Anglia with a First Class degree in Music, and went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music. She currently studies with Graeme Danby and Jonathan Papp, and enjoys a full and varied programme of opera, oratorio and recital.

Recent opera engagements include Papagena (Die Zauberflöte)and Barbarina (Le Nozze di Figaro) for Garsington Opera, Susanna (Marriage of Figaro) and Berta (Barber of Seville) for Opera Buffa, Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), Micaela (Carmen), and Adina (L'elisir d'amore) for Eastern Opera, Despina (Cosí fan Tutte) for Bampton Classical Opera, Pamina (The Magic Flute) for Kentish Opera, the cover of Amore (Orfeo ed Eurydice) for Opera North, The Wind in the Willows in the Linbury Theatre at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and Barbarina (Le Nozze di Figaro) in the Gstaad Festival, Switzerland alongside Barbara Bonney and Gerald Finley. Bibi also recently took part in Essence, a collaborative project of Opera North and Walker Dance Park Music.

Bibi has performed much of the oratorio repertoire in venues that span the whole of the UK. These include Mendelssohn Elijah and Elgar The Apostles in the Barbican Concert Hall, Handel Messiah with the Northern Sinfonia in Newcastle and Middlesbrough Cathedrals, Holst Choral Symphony in Glasgow City Hall, Brahms Ein Deutsches Requiem in Arundel Cathedral, Mozart Mass in C Minor and Dvoƙak Te Deum in Guildford Cathedral, Rossini Petite Messe Solennelle in Dunblane Cathedral, Fanshawe African Sanctus in the Brighton Festival, Haydn Creation in StJohn's, Smith Square, Mozart Exsultate, Jubilate in Windsor Chapel, and Orff Carmina Burana in the Royal Albert Hall.

On the concert platform, recent performances include Strauss FourLast Songs conducted by Barry Wordsworth in the Brighton Dome, theViennese New Year's Eve Gala with the Brighton Philharmonic, the GibsideClassical Spectacular with the Northern Sinfonia, gala concerts in the Royal Albert Hall and Royal Festival Hall, Brahms Liebeslieder Walzer in the Wigmore Hall and the Royal Opera House Floral Hall, and Viennese galas in Bath, Salisbury, Cheltenham and Darlington with the London Gala Orchestra.

Forthcoming engagements include Gretel (Hansel and Gretel) forEastern Opera. Haydn Nelson Mass and Jenkins The Armed Man in St Bartholomew's Church, Brighton and song recitals with pianist Jonathan Papp in London, the Lake District and throughout East Anglia.
