Mark Stone - baritone

Mark Stone was born in London and studied at King's College, Cambridge and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

He has performed for English National Opera, Opera North, Glyndebourne Touring Opera, Welsh National Opera, Garsington Opera, Grange Park Opera, Raymond Gubbay/RAH and Opera Holland Park, and abroad for Montpellier, Liceu-Barcelona, Nationale Reisopera-Holland, Opera Atelier-Toronto, Opera New Zealand and Israeli Opera.

Operatic roles include Figaro, Count Almaviva, Don Giovanni, Guglielmo, Onegin, Yeletsky, Ashton, Marcello, Silvio, Escamillo, Ottakar, Harašta, Demetrius, Sid, Junius and Tippet’s Hector.

He has sung at all the major UK halls with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the City of London Sinfonia, the BBC Concert Orchestra, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hallé Orchestra, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the Hanover Band.

This season’s and future plans include Sonora in La Fanciulla del West and Valvert in Cyrano de Bergerac (Royal Opera House, Covent Garden), Yamadori in Madam Butterfly, Chou En Lai in Nixon in China and Count Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro (English National Opera), Marcello in La Bohème (Raymond Gubbay/Royal Albert Hall) and recitals around the UK.
