The Neil Jenkins Chorale, from Brighton and Hove in Sussex, consists of Neil, his wife Penny, together with other members of their musical family and their friends and pupils. They were formed originally in 1990 to record the Christmas Carol arrangements contained in Neil's Carol Singers Handbook. Since then they have performed together regularly in concerts and recitals in the south of England. In 1993 they made their television debut in BBC TV's series On the Straight and Narrow, hosted by Dame Thora Hird, singing Victorian ballads and Temperance songs in period costume. In August 1996 the Chorale took part in the Music Festival at Coutances, France, and toured the Abbeys of Normandy. They have performed at the Finchcocks Festival, the Brighton Festival, and appear regularly at St Mary's House, Bramber. They have made four recordings in all for the Kevin Mayhew label including Christmas is coming, O Praise God, and O Holy Night.
