Nick Pritchard studied music at New College, Oxford, where he also sung with the internationally renowned New College choir. Work with the choir included five recordings and tours to the USA, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Luxembourg, France, Latvia and Spain. During his time at Oxford, Nick also sung with Out of the Blue, Oxford’s premiere all male a capella group. During his time with Out of the Blue, the group came second in the world in the International Collegiate a Capella Competition in the Lincoln Centre.
As a soloist, Nick has featured in performances of Handel’s Acis and Galtea, Messiah and Hercules, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Dvorak’s Stabat Mater, Charpentier’s Messe de Minuit and Te Deum, Haydn’s Nelson Mass, Stainer’s Crucifixion, Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb, Mozart’s Requiem, Beethoven’s Mass in C, Rossini’s Messe Solennelle, Bach’s St. John Passion (Arias), St. Matthew Passion (Evangelist) and Christmas Oratorio (Evangelist and Arias).
Previous credits include: Mr. Peachum in The Threepenny Opera, Frederic in The Pirates of Penzance, Jean Valjean in Les Miserables, Tamino in The Magic Flute, Alfred in Die Fledermaus, Quint/Prologue in The Turn of the Screw, Count Almaviva in The Barber of Seville, Captain Fitzbattleaxe in Utopia Limited and Hilarion in Princess Ida, for which he received the award for best supporting actor at the Buxton International Gilbert and Sullivan festival in 2010.
