Members from Sussex Chorus will be travelling to Vienna in November to take part in a concert on 26th November.
Saturday, 26th November 2011, 1800 hours Minoritenkirche, Vienna. Vivaldi Magnificat, Vivaldi Gloria, Bach Cantata No. 140 Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme
- Angharad Gabriel – soprano
- Louisa Barry – mezzo soprano
- Nobuaki Kyushiki – baritone
- Sussex Chorus
- Erste Frauen-Kammerorchester von Österreich
- Neil Jenkins – conductor
This will be the fourth visit choir members will have made to sing in Vienna together with Erste Frauen-Kammerorchester von Österreich. The previous concerts have also taken place in this beautiful church in Vienna. The majority of choir members will be travelling very conveniently from Gatwick to Vienna and staying at the Hotel Biedermeier – a 4* star hotel in a very convenient position on the Landstrasser Hauptstr.
Sussex Chorus members are delighted that the British Ambassador to Austria has agreed to be the patron of the concert.
During this visit I’m sure that choir members will enjoy visits to the SchÅ‘nbrunn Palace and park, the Spanish Riding School, The Staatsoper, the Hofburg, and, of course, several of the Christmas markets.
It is still possible for more choir members to join this visit to Vienna. This has always been a very popular overseas destination and in 1993, 1997 and 2000 more than a hundred people took part in the visit. Further information is available if you email to secretary@sussexchorus.org
